Hourly Rate or Monthly Salary:

Working Hours: Two full-time (10 months per year), tenure-track faculty positions, beginning in August 2017. The standard contractual work week for these positions is forty (40) hours. The standard instructional work week shall consist of thirty (30) hours of instructional time, curriculum development, preparation and student evaluation (contact hours and preparation hours). The remaining time will consist of five (5) student hours (of which at least two (2) hours must be designated office hours), and five (5) institutional service hours. The individuals selected for these positions will be subject to assignment to any district facility during any hours of operation.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The Letters Program is home to three departments: Letters, Transfer; Letters, Pre-Transfer; and English as a Second Language. Under the umbrella of these departments are various disciplines including Composition, Humanities, Learning Skills, Linguistics, Literature, and Reading. Students take courses in the Letters Department to prepare for a major in English and/or to fulfill general education requirements and/or to build skills for success in all college success courses and in the workplace.

3. a Master's degree in literature and writing studies (an approved comparable degree at MiraCosta College); OR

4. a valid California Community College teaching credential authorizing instruction in the appropriate subject matter; OR

About MiraCosta College
