Responsibilities:

The First Year Experience (FYE) Residential Coordinator is an integral member of the residential staff that creates a home for first year residential students by developing a safe and inclusive environment that supports growth and learning. The FYE Residential Coordinator is responsible for collaborating with key campus partners to provide a welcoming, inclusive, and engaging environment that fosters success for incoming students and their onboarding experience to the College. The FYE Residential Coordinator assists with the development and implementation of New Student and Family signature programs (new student orientation, the weekend of welcome, family weekend, etc.). The FYE Residential Coordinator assists with recruitment, training, supervision, and programming expectations of the residential advisors in addition to reinforcing support for the residential directors in the first year designated areas. This poisition works closely with the Lead Residential Coordinator, Associate Dean of Students, and the Director of Community Life to hold residents accountable to the student code of conduct by serving as a hearing officer for first-year residents. In a matrix organizational structure, this position uniquely reports directly to the Associate Dean of Students for all residential duties and responsibilities as it relates to first year students (ex. program, buildings, staffing) and with another reporting relationship to the Director of New Student and Family Programs (NSFP) as it relates to first year experiences, student transitions, and family programs. As a team, it is expected that this position will assist in the implementation of a vision that focuses on intestinally and successfully transitioning and progressing first-year students throughout their residential experience. This is a live-in position that also serves as a main on-call staff member for the College.

Skills/Abilities:
1-2 years experience in working with first year students; knowledge of event management; ability to collect and analyze data; ability to work independently and in a team; outstanding ability to communicate effectively (both oral and written) with students, faculty,staff and off campus vendors and stakeholders; strong organizational and interpersonal skills; ability to create and maintain a creative, positive, supportive environment
