Responsibilities:

This position reports to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for External Relations. The position will serve as the primary contact for digital media, athletic video, SMCGaels.com and The W.tv. Responsibilities are to develop greater interest and support of Saint Mary's Athletics through execution of strategic marketing and branding initiatives for designated website and social media sites; working with communications, marketing, and other external department staff to deliver a consistent message to all parties; provide content for SMCGaels.com; participation in the production, coordination, and execution of the following: in-game content for web streaming (compositing, graphics, editing, live events, shows, interviews, press conferences, directing, set-up, lighting, sound, and camera operation). Annual season highlight and review videos, commercial television/radio spots, banquet videos, marketing and promotional videos; further develop initiatives in new media, social media and multimedia -- including video (previews, highlights, features, etc.), and assist in graphic design projects to meet the Athletics Department's growing marketing needs; research and develop innovative and creative media content across social media platforms; be the liaison between the West Coast Conference and Saint Mary's to ensure the W.tv is produced and executed in the proper manner; coordinate all athletic events to be carried on the W.tv; staff all W.tv games and train the appropriate members on the conference digital network.



Experience and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in related field
  • Experience with an online Digital Network
  • Prior experience and expertise with camera and lighting
  • Proven record of enhancing game day experience through video and web outlets, replay, directing and producing live events.
  • Competency in the use of MAC and PC and video editing software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro and After Effects.
  • Prior experience and expertise with social media platforms
  • Knowledge of social media monitoring tools
  • Strong computer/internet skills
  • Working knowledge of mobile devices and tablets
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • A history of regular attendance and positive performance reviews.
  • Ability to:
    • strictly adhere to NCAA, WCC and athletic department rules and regulations
    • work in a flexible, collaborative manner in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions while under the pressure of meeting deadlines; travel with teams as needed
    • perform job assignments by working extended 8-hour workdays and weekends
    • collaborate with other staff members to enhance the online image of Saint Mary's
    • apply effective listening, writing and oral skills and competence in interpreting and communicating procedures, policies, information, ideas, and instruction
    • support the department's commitment to equity and diversity, as well as perform all duties with integrity and professionalism
    • establish and maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, and the general public from diverse ethnic, cultural, and social-economic backgrounds
