Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM; this is a temporary training position to end on or before one year of training in the program. Upon successful completion, the incumbent may move to the Evaluator I classification.

Job Summary:
California State University, Fullerton is searching for an Evaluator Trainee. The Evaluator Trainee should have a positive attitude and an active, energetic mind that is characterized by highly ethical practices and a commitment to diversity, openness, flexibility, integrity, and kindness.

Assists academic departments and the u.Direct Coordinator in developing and maintaining roadmaps in u.Direct. Gains familiarity with u.Direct software, and its linkage with the Titan Degree Audit (TDA) and PeopleSoft. Collaborates with faculty, advisors, and staff to ensure completeness and accuracy of roadmaps. Gains familiarity with the functionalities pertaining to the creation of student academic plans (term-by-term plan). Evaluates academic records for the purpose of determining eligibility to meet degree requirements listed on the student's academic plan and the TDA. Verifies transfer units awarded are accurately reflected on the student's academic plan and the TDA. Enters degree requirement exceptions into DARWin/u.Achieve, or makes adjustments on the TDA and the student's academic plan. Evaluates undergraduate supplemental records as needed to determine applicability towards degree requirements listed on the TDA and the student's academic plan. Learns to post transfer units in DARWin/u.Achieve and PeopleSoft/CMS system. Assists with training faculty, advisors, and staff on u.Direct.

Provides assistance to faculty, advisors, and staff on questions or issues relating to roadmaps or student academic plans. Learns to communicate both orally and in writing with Admissions Evaluators, Graduation Evaluators, faculty, advisors, and staff on a regular basis with regard to course applicability towards degree requirements as reflected on the TDA and the student's academic plan. Responds to student inquiries relating to roadmaps and student academic plans. Other duties as assigned.


Essential Qualifications:
Equivalent to six months of experience involving academic, administrative, fiscal or statistical records processing and maintenance or two years of full-time college with coursework specific to the development of quantitative and analytical skills. Knowledge of general office procedures, methods, and practices. Knowledge of techniques used for processing information. Ability to check complex records and detailed information for compliance with criteria. Ability to be thorough and accurate in comparing records. Ability to interpret and apply written regulations. Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and evaluations. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.
