The faculty in the Master of Social Work Program at California State University Dominguez Hills invites applications from individuals for an academic year Full Professor position in the Department of Social Work.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate demonstrates a commitment to social justice and excellence and is expected to teach graduate courses in advanced social work practice, qualitative and quantitative research methods, mental health; other teaching assignments will depend on Department needs; engage in scholarly work in social work. Utilize effective teaching and classroom management strategies, which enhance the success of diverse learners.

Additional responsibilities include advising students, supervising student research projects, participating in program development, and committee service at all levels of university governance.

The Master of Social Work Program at California State University, Dominguez Hills is strategically located to focus on the diverse social service needs and problems particular to the South Bay area of Los Angeles County, a large metropolitan area, populated by a wide range of socially and culturally diverse people. Because of the diversity of the various ethnic groups and cultures, the program will prepare social work students for contextually competent social work practice, inclusive of issues of culture, race, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, class and gender differences, religion and the effects of bias, prejudice, and institutionalized racism. These issues and concerns often obscure helping efforts if they are not appropriately recognized and dealt with in practice and in social policy development and implementation

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Earned doctorate in Social Work or closely related field from an accredited institution of higher education and MSW from an accredited program.
Minimum of two (2) years of post-MSW continuous practice experience in professional social work.
At least six (6) recent years of satisfactory progressive teaching experience, which includes a minimum of three (3) years in accredited (CSWE) MSW program (with or without a baccalaureate program).
A record of scholarly accomplishments, including publications in peer-reviewed academic journals, invitations to present at national conferences, and successful external funding awards.
A demonstrated commitment to social justice
Social work practice experience working with diverse age, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated experience in securing and managing external funding
Demonstrated experience in curriculum development
Displays ability to create and maintain professional relationships with constituencies (individuals, groups, communities, and agencies)
Willingness and ability to work in collaborative multi-disciplinary teams.
