The faculty of the Department of Political Science at California State University Dominguez Hills invites applications from individuals for a tenure track, Assistant Professor position in Comparative Politics effective Fall 2018.
Responsibilities
The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching, performing service on departmental and university-wide bases, publishing research in peer-reviewed academic journals relevant to the discipline of political science/the subfield of Comparative Politics, maintaining office hours, providing advising for our majors and minors, and participating with colleagues in curricular development.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
A PhD or ABD in Political Science or a closely related field from an accredited institution of higher education
Research experience
Teaching experience or training in teaching techniques.
Expertise in area studies, in one of more of the following fields: Asia, The Middle East, Europe, Africa
Teaching and research interest in Comparative Politics
A strong interest in developing new courses to reflect the changing nature of the international system and developments in the discipline of Political Science.
Experience and/or ability in teaching undergraduates from diverse age, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
Secondary interest in Quantitative Methodology
Ability and willingness to teach, and perform research utilizing, Quantitative Methodology
An interest in student-involved research
