Position Announcement

The Department of Management & Marketing at California State University Dominguez Hills invites applications for a Tenure-track Full-time position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor with the appointment starting in Fall 2019. Appointment and start date are subject to the availability of funds.

Department of Management & Marketing; Entrepreneurship Program
The Department of Management and Marketing has eight tenured or tenure-track management faculty, one full-time lecturer and several part-time lecturers teaching management classes to undergraduate and graduate students. There are many exciting cross discipline opportunities for collaboration. Additional information is available from the department chair, Dr. Natasa Christodoulidou (nchristodoulidou@csudh.edu).

The College of Business Administration and Public Policy consists of three business departments (accounting, finance & economics; information and operations systems; and management and marketing), the department of public policy and the applied studies program. The College houses 46 full-time faculty, 60 equivalent faculty counting part timers, 2100 undergraduate and 450 graduate students. The business major awards the largest number of bachelor degrees on campus. The business program is the second largest program in the university including both undergraduate and graduate degrees. The College offers two (online and on ground) graduate degrees, an MBA and an MPA.

These two degrees have on-line options with complete concentration and course offerings. The MBA Online program was cited in the Wall Street Journal and is listed as a top-ten best buy by Geteducated.com. The public administration program is accredited by NASP AA.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
The candidate for Associate Professor must have a completed Ph.D. from an AACSB accredited university while those for Assistant Professor should possess a Ph.D. in Management or be in the final stages of completing their dissertation from an AACSB accredited university at the time of employment with completion scheduled by the start of Fall 2019 semester. The candidate will need to be academically qualified based on the current AACSB standards, by time of employment. For consideration at the Associate Professor level, a track record of teaching excellence and publications in quality journals is required.
Experience in teaching undergraduates from diverse age, socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.

Preferred /Desired Qualifications
In addition to the minimum qualifications needed, it is preferred that the candidate has experience teaching Entrepreneurship courses. It is also very helpful if the candidate has experience designing and improving Entrepreneurship curriculum. Experience with Entrepreneurship community outreach in relation to a Small Business Development Center, small business mentoring, or business incubators is a plus.

Employment Requirement - Background Check
Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
