The School of Criminology and Criminal Justice (SCCJ) invites applications for an associate professor (with tenure) or full professor (with tenure) to begin August of 2017.  Successful applicants must demonstrate the ability to contribute to the core research strengths of the SCCJ in the substantive areas of criminology and criminal justice. The area of specialization is corrections, broadly defined to include both those living and working in institutional and community correctional settings, as well as reentry, reintegration and recidivism reduction.

Job Duties:

Successful applicants must demonstrate the ability to contribute to the mission of the School in teaching, research, and service. The specific responsibilities of the position include: teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice; conducting research and publishing scholarship related to institutional and/or community corrections, reentry and recidivism reduction; seeking external funding to support scholarly research; engaging in service within Arizona State University at the school, college, and university levels; providing service to the community and the profession; participating in curriculum development, program planning, and student advisement; and collaborating with criminal justice agencies on evaluation research and technical assistance projects.    

Required Qualifications:

A Ph.D. in criminology, criminal justice, or a related field, with a specialization in corrections.  A distinguished record of scholarly research and publication commensurate with rank. Evidence of teaching effectiveness.

Desired Qualifications:

A record of externally-funded research with federal and state agencies relevant to institutional or community corrections.
