About the College/Department
Counseling & Psychological Services ( CAPS ) is the primary counseling center for the Fayetteville campus of the University of Arkansas. The multicultural, multidisciplinary staff includes an office manager and three administrative professionals, ten full-time clinicians, two case managers, the assistant director of training, the associate director of clinical services, the director, two psychiatrists, a nurse, and typically four half-time graduate trainees. CAPS is in the early stages of a Doctoral Internship program in Health Psychology. CAPS is a department of the Pat Walker Health Center.

Summary of Job Duties
The Mental Health Clinician clinical duties to include individual, couple, and group counseling, emergency mental health services, consultation with University community, and clinical supervision of graduate students. Clinical disposition activities, staff meetings, and clinical documentation. Coordination of specific area (i.e., group, outreach, training, etc.)
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

- Master's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in social work, counseling education, or a related field
- Ph.D. in clinical or counseling psychology from an accredited institution of higher education
- State of Arkansas license for independent practice in one's discipline or the eligibility for licensure within two years
