About the College/Department
The department of University Recreation ( UREC ) is a major-campus wide service unit of the College of Education and Health Professions. UREC serves the university community by providing a diverse selection of recreational opportunities and facilities, which are designed to enhance the quality of life for each participant. In order to meet the diverse recreational needs of the university community, the program is organized into various program areas: Intramural Sports, Club Sports, Fitness/Wellness, Aquatics, Non-Credit Instruction, Informal Recreation, UREC Outdoors and Inclusive Recreation. Summary of Job Duties
Lifeguard position for the department of University Recreation ( UREC ) will be responsible for the following duties:
To Supervise UREC participants in and around the Natatorium area, prevent and correct poor behavior, ensure the Natatorium is safe and free of all hazards, implement emergency skills as necessary. Must also know the emergency procedures of UREC in the event of emergencies.

Minimum Qualifications

Please ensure that all relevant application materials include details addressing the minimum qualifications. Applicants not meeting the minimum qualifications will be disqualified from consideration.
  • Lifeguard certified or currently getting Lifeguard certified
  • Able to swim 300 yds, retrieve a 10 pound brink off the bottom of the 17 ft section of our pool, and perform necessary life-saving skills

Preferred Qualifications
  • Currently Lifeguard and CPR , AED , and First Aid certified, or will be certified by May 13th
