Summary of Job Duties
The Instructor will teach four to six classes per academic year depending on the needs of the department. Courses taught by Instructors during the past three years have included AGEC 1103, 2103, 2142, 2303, 3303 and 3403. The tentative course assignment for the 2017-2018 academic year is AGEC 2142 (fall and spring), AGEC 3403 (fall and spring) and AGEC 3303 (fall). Upper division courses are sometimes assigned to Instructors. Instructors also may assist with undergraduate advising, recruiting and student clubs and activities such as the Agribusiness Club and the Quiz Bowl team. Instructors serve on departmental committees and assist with other academic program duties. The teaching assignments may change with enrollment and departmental needs. This is a 9-month appointment for the August - May academic year. Summer teaching and research employment opportunities may be available for year to year. Instructors also may have the opportunity to develop and offer on-line courses.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master's degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Applied Economics or a related field (Master's degree must be conferred by the start of employment)
• Excellent oral and written communications skills and an ability to work with students and other faculty
• Demonstrated strong training in economic theory and quantitative methods

Preferred Qualifications

• Teaching experience at the collegiate level
• Training beyond the Master's level in economics, agricultural economics, statistics or related fields
