About the College/Department
Garvan Woodland Gardens are the Botanical Gardens of the University of Arkansas, located on a 200 acre peninsula on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs. The gardens are composed of 60 acres of landscaped areas including Asian, English, and wildflower Gardens, a 45 acre nature preserve, and a number of special events and educational venues that attract over 150,000 annual visitors and is supported by over 3,000 member households.
Hot Springs is the home of America's first National Park and is the hub of the Diamond Lakes Recreational Region, one of the most popular areas for hiking and water recreation in the Mid-South. The city is located in the scenic Ouachita Mountains and features low cost of living and great quality of life.

Summary of Job Duties
The horticulture crew leader is responsible for the routine maintenance and care of assigned garden spaces, plant nursery, and greenhouse facility.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Minimum Qualifications

  • The formal education equivalent of a high school diploma
  • At least four years of experience in landscaping, grounds maintenance, or related area, including one year in a supervisory capacity
