Summary of Job Duties
The Graduate Assistant for Club Sports will be responsible for the daily operations and facilitation of the UREC Club Sports program that includes over 25 club sports, the Club Sports Advisory Board and serve a key role in the training and advisement of Club Sport Officers. This person will be responsible for the research and implementation of educational training programs for club officers emphasizing yearly programmatic expectations, leadership development and identifying transferable skills that assist in the attainment of yearly learning outcomes.
Administrative duties include but are not limited to; administering purchase requests, club travel and insurance, compliance of risk management, university licensing approval and other capital purchases for the clubs and program.
The Graduate Assistant for Club Sports will also assist in identifying recruitment opportunities for all clubs as well as facilitating community service events for all club officers and athletes. All UREC Club Sports social media accounts and website will be updated and monitored by this Graduate Assistant as well as administering inventory and dues payments via Innosoft's Fusion software. In collaboration with the UREC facilities staff this graduate assistant will aid in the scheduling of club activities, practice, competitions and special events as well as have a knowledge and willingness to assist in the maintenance of the new, artificial turf Mitchell Street Outdoor Complex and other UREC facilities.
Additional responsibilities may include but are not limited to; contribute to collaborative departmental programming and training efforts, attend departmental staff meetings and/or university events, teach American Red Cross CPR / AED and First Aid classes.

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Minimum 3.0 grade point average
  • Admission to a College of Education and Health Professions graduate degree program
  • Satisfactory completion of the GRE will be required prior to employment with the department of University Recreation
