Summary of Job Duties
The School of Social Work at the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, invites applications for a Clinical Assistant Professor ( CAP ) of Social Work. This is a 9-month CAP position. We seek applicants who demonstrate the ability to work with diverse populations as well as contribute to the diversity of the campus and who are well prepared to teach courses in a thriving, cutting-edge and accredited School of Social Work.
The successful candidate would teach 4 courses per academic year (9 months) in both the BSW and MSW programs and across at least two curricular domains ( HBSE , practice, policy, and research). Faculty are expected to teach weekdays and evenings as needed, and should be open to teaching in both the traditional classroom and in an online format. Faculty may also be asked to develop courses and should have a basic level of technology proficiency. Faculty are also expected to contribute to service to the school by serving on committees, mentoring and advising students.
The successful candidate will also assist the Field Director to advise students for internship, assign students to appropriate placements, problem solve issues related to field placements and assist the Field Director in any other way needed during the academic year.
Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

• MSW degree from a CSWE -accredited program conferred by the start of employment
• At least two years of post MSW practice experience
• Eligibility for Arkansas state licensure ( LMSW or LCSW )
• Teaching experience or evidence of potential for excellence in this area
• Worldview consistent with social work values and ethics
• Strong interest in and a professional commitment to the preparation of professional social workers
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills and collegiality

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience teaching using an online platform, such as Blackboard or Moodle
• Experience in course development
• Practice in various settings and at various levels (e.g. direct service, administration, and policy)
• Field instructor and/or liaison experience
• An interest in serving as a field instructor as needed
• Excellent communication skills
• A record of effective interdisciplinary collaboration in research and/or teaching
