Tenure-Track-Transportation Engineering

The Department of Civil, Construction, and Environmental Engineering at The University of Alabama (UA) invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in the area of Transportation Engineering. Candidates will be considered for appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The preferred candidate will have research experience in area of connected vehicles, autonomous vehicles, and transportation safety. Additional expertise in one or more of the following areas will be given strong consideration: traffic operations, sustainable transportation, transportation planning, traffic mobility, crowd sourced data, big data as related to transportation, traffic simulation, and transportation systems. A working skillset in computer science complementary to connected and autonomous vehicles is desirable.

The department benefits from the College and University’s expansion in enrollment and facilities including completion of the $300M Engineering and Science Complex in 2013.
