The Department of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics (AEM) at The University of Alabama invites applications for a full-time, renewable, non-tenure-track Instructor position (9-month appointment) beginning January 2018. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate-level distance learning mechanics courses (statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, & fluid mechanics) and develop/revise course content so as to provide a high-quality, online educational experience for students taking these distance learning courses. The position is for one-year with the possibility of renewal based upon need, funding, and performance (at the discretion of the University). Teaching experience at the University-level is preferred (in aerospace engineering, engineering science/mechanics and/or a closely related field).

The University of Alabama’s AEM department enrolls 400+ undergraduate students in the ABET-accredited BSAE degree program and approximately 100 graduate students in the MS and PhD degree programs. The AEM Department is currently experiencing an era of unprecedented growth and expansion.
