The Department of Aerospace Engineering and Mechanics (AEM) at The University of Alabama invites applications for a full-time, renewable, non-tenure-track Instructor position (12-month appointment) beginning January 2018. The successful candidate will (a) teach graduate-level courses that support the distance learning option for the MSAEM and PhD-AEM degree programs, (b) develop/revise select online AEM graduate courses, (c) serve as the Point of Contact for AEM distance learning graduate students, and (d) provide leadership with regard to growing the distance learning option for the UA PhD-AEM degree program. The position is for one-year with the possibility of renewal based upon need, funding, and performance (at the discretion of the University). Teaching experience at the University-level is preferred (in aerospace engineering, engineering science/mechanics and/or a closely related field).
The University of Alabama’s AEM department enrolls 400+ undergraduate students in the
ABET-accredited BSAE degree program and approximately 100 graduate students in the MS and PhD degree programs. The AEM Department is currently experiencing an era of unprecedented growth and expansion. The University of Alabama is located on a beautiful 1,168-acre residential campus in Tuscaloosa, a dynamic community of over 150,000.
