Minimum Qualifications
We are seeking applicants who hold a Masters in Social Work with a minimum of two years post-Master's experience. Applicants from related fields will be considered. We are strongly invested in recruiting colleagues who, in their practice and teaching experience, demonstrate knowledge of and sensitivity to the needs of culturally diverse and underrepresented populations and communities, as well as a commitment to social justice. Applicants should have an interest and expertise in reaching our diverse student body through online and face-to-face instruction and advising.
Preferred Qualifications
Applicants with a PhD are preferred.
School of Social Work
The University's School of Social Work, established in 1966, has an accomplished faculty of 23 tenured and tenure-track faculty, 10 full-time teaching (instructor) faculty and 19 dedicated professional and support staff. The School has a long-standing internship program in Washington, DC and international initiatives in locations including China, Brazil, Hong Kong, Mexico, and soon Cuba. The school enjoys good relationships with federal, state and local social service, health, and educational agencies and institutions. We have a strong and vibrant alumni community.
Faculty instructors have excellent support for research and teaching, a School of Social Work Office of Research, in-house librarian, and opportunities to work with nationally-prominent research colleagues. Compensation
Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. Compensation includes a benefits package with healthcare, reduced tuition rates and retirement. Summer teaching opportunities are available for additional compensation.
