Tech II, HVAC (Weekend/Night Shift)

**The Mechanical Shop is seeking to fill this position for the weekend/night shift: 11:00pm Friday night to 11:00am Saturday Morning, 11:00pm Saturday night to 11:00am Sunday morning and two days during the week that are 1st shift 7:30am - 4:00pm. A 10% shift differential will be paid for all hours of a regularly assigned evening or night shift provided the employee actually works four hours or more between the hours of 3:00 p.m and 7:00 a.m.**

The individual in this position installs, maintains, and repairs equipment related to HVAC systems. Essential functions include, but are not limited to: completes preventative maintenance on air conditioning units, fan coil units, and other motors and equipment; diagnoses problems, repairs and replaces equipment, unit, and parts; replaces and installs equipment such as heating and air conditioning units, appliances, compressors, pneumatic systems, pumps, and motors; repairs and replaces components of units such as thermostats, diaphragm in reheat valve, pneumatic actuator, pneumatic lines and filters, controls, driers, fan motor, and leaking coils; monitors and cleans boiler system to maintain proper water temperature; cleans equipment, tools, and shop area including disposing of hazardous materials; may maintain a computer database for work activities, supplies, and accountability of equipment; and adapts procedures, techniques, tools, materials and/or equipment to meet special needs.

Minimum Qualifications
Entry into the applicant pool requires a high school diploma or equivalent; four (4) years of experience in HVAC practices; certification as a Universal Refrigerant Technician; a valid driver's license or the ability to obtain one prior to selection; and twenty-four hour on call status availability. Employer will consider advanced degrees in lieu of experience.
