Human Resources Generalist III

**The following position is available to internal candidates only, i.e. current Auburn University and Auburn University Montgomery employees only, not TES- Temporary Employment Services.**

The University Libraries seeks an experienced Human Resources Generalist III.

The HR Generalist III is responsible for managing and leading all human resources activities in an academic setting for multiple locations on campus. A successful candidate will advise library leadership on human resources matters, facilitating recruitment and selection of faculty, staff and student employment, coaching supervisors on performance management, working with employees and supervisors in employee relations concerns, delivery of training for a variety of human resources areas, development and coordination of staff development activities, establish and maintain collaborative relationships, an effective communicator in delivery of services to library employees, responsible for timely payroll activities to ensure accuracy of pay actions, review, develop and make recommendations of internal procedures for consistency in human resources functions within the library, ability to identify and effectively analyze situations and make recommendations for a productive work environment. Furthermore, a successful candidate will be a positive liaison with central offices and possess the ability to function independently and as a member of a team.

Minimum Qualifications
Entry in the applicant pool requires a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Human Resources, Management, Business Administration, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Education or other closely related fields; four years of experience working in human resources management including recruitment and selection, staff development, and employee relations. A working knowledge of all functions of HR (i.e., talent acquisition, employee relations, consultation and advisory role to managers, policy and procedure development, performance management, payroll administration, etc.) Employer will consider appropriate advance degrees in lieu of experience.

Familiarity with HR laws and practices, ability to interpret and communicate policies, programs, and procedures; managing legal compliance of retention of records, equal employment activities; ability to navigate human resource systems; excellent written and interpersonal communication skills; presentation and facilitation skills; ability to effectively work with individuals at all levels and from varied and diverse backgrounds; ability to handle sensitive and confidential information; ability to handle competing priorities with success; and proficiency in MS Office programs, Kronos, and Banner is required.
