The Program Director oversees the Office of Student Veterans and Commissioning Programs and provides campus expertise related to military veterans as a component of institutional diversity, as well as on opportunities to serve in the United States military. Primary responsibility is on advising and supporting military-affiliated students (students who have served, are serving, or are interested in serving in the United States military), dependents of United States military veterans, and international students who have or are serving in the militaries of other nations.  Among other activities, the Program Director partners with various admission and recruitment staffs to recruit veteran applicants; develops campus and local networks to ensure information about opportunities is available; coordinates programs and develops Web, print, and social media communications; and coordinates with various offices (e.g., Institutional Equity & Diversity, Financial Aid, Office of the Dean of the College, Warren Alpert Medical School, etc.) to develop policies and practices that are veteran-friendly and support student choice to pursue military officer commissioning opportunities. The Program Director also takes the lead on student leadership development for the division and works in partnership with other centers, programs, the Student Activities Office, and the Assistant Director for community dialogue and campus engagement to create a sustainable program around developing student leadership. We are particularly interested in applicants who see and engage with student leadership development through an asset based approach. The Program Director reports primarily to the Director of the Stephen Robert ’62 Campus Center and Student Activities with a dotted line reporting line to the Assistant Vice President of Campus Life around student leadership development.
