Psychology Professor

The Department of Psychology in the College of Education, Health and Human Sciences invites applications for the position of Department Chair to begin in August 2010. This tenure-track position requires a doctorate in Psychology and credentials commensurate with the rank of Associate or Full Professor.
The ideal candidate will have evidence of effective academic leadership and administrative experience. The Chair is responsible for mentoring faculty and facilitating departmental teaching and scholarship efforts. Candidates with teaching and scholarship interests in any area of Psychology will be considered; preference will be given to those whose interests complement the existing department profile. Faculty typically teach a 4:4 load, with 50% release for the department chair. Department chair appointments are for 2 years and are renewable upon election.

The successful candidate will join a department of 17 faculty responsible for a B.A. in Psychology with 320 students, an M.S. in Applied Psychology with 40 students in Industrial/Organizational, Program Evaluation, and Health Psychology concentrations, and minors in Psychology, Human Resource Management, and Cognitive Neuroscience. The department has excellent teaching and research facilities supporting many opportunities for faculty/student collaboration in the classroom and lab. We are particularly interested in applicants with strong potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship that would support our applied psychology focus.
