The University of Wisconsin-Madison Department of English invites applications for a tenure-track position in Old English Literature; the ideal candidate would also have the ability to offer courses in the History of the English Language.
We particularly welcome applicants whose interdisciplinary research speaks to other members of the English Department as well as colleagues across the university-wide Program in Medieval Studies. Candidates at the Assistant Professor-level should have the PhD in hand by August 2010.
Interested candidates should send a letter of application, curriculum vitae, dissertation abstract (or statement of research), three letters of reference, and a writing sample of up to 25 pages to: Thomas Schaub, Chair, English Department, UW-Madison, 600 North Park Street, Madison, WI 53706. To ensure full consideration and for possible MLA interview, applications must be received by November 30, 2009.
