Asst Professor, Leadership & Integrative Studies

The Faculty of Leadership & Integrative Studies (LIS) in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts (CISA) at Arizona State University (ASU) invites applications for an assistant professor position in organizational leadership. This is an academic year (9-month) appointment with an expected start date of August 16, 2022. The position is a benefits-eligible appointment with tenure implications. The successful candidate will be expected to build and teach courses for the BA and MS degrees in Organizational Leadership, engage in research applicable to your field, seek external funding to support the research program, advise students, and provide service to the institution and profession. The teaching load is typically two (2) courses per semester in a variety of modalities (online, on-ground, hybrid), and on the Tempe or Polytechnic campuses. The specific course load and composition are determined by the faculty head.

The mission of LIS is to create a collaboration among faculty, staff, and students in diverse fields of study to enhance the students’ leadership and integrative capacities to enrich the many communities they serve. The Faculty of Leadership and Integrative Studies is a vibrant community of forty-six full-time faculty, 60 part-time faculty members, and 3 full-time staff members dedicated to excellent teaching, scholarship and service. We are diverse, inclusive, student-centered, collegial, innovative, dynamic and growing. We offer 7 undergraduate degrees, 2 minors, 1 certificate program, 3 IDS concentration areas, and 3 graduate degrees. Overall, we serve 6,000 students in our majors, and hundreds more taking general studies and elective classes per semester. Required Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in organizational leadership or related field at time of appointment
  • Two years of post-secondary teaching experience in organizational leadership or a related field
  • Evidence of a commitment to meeting the needs of diverse/underrepresented student and/or community populations via teaching/mentoring or service
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English
  • Ability to teach in digital environments
  • A developed research agenda that will yield grant-funded projects

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience as a PI or co-PI on grant-funded projects
  • Evidence of scholarship, or industry experience related to Organizational Leadership
  • Experience working with diverse undergraduate and graduate populations
  • Experience providing faculty service
  • Evidence of professional development activities
  • Experience developing, refining and/or assessing curriculum
  • Experience working in collaborative environments
