Programs/Activities and Community Coordinator - Widener Partnership Charter Sch

Widener University is currently seeking a Programs/Activities and Community Coordinator at Widener Partnership Charter school. This role reports to Principal/CEO and provides support to the students and staff at WPCS.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (including, but not limited to) :

Essential duties:
  • Create, plan, and coordinate fund raising events and community events for WPCS
  • Manage volunteers and the volunteer process at WPCS
  • Manage and maintain WPCS social media platforms
  • Plan and organize 8 th grade Graduation, field day, and honor roll ceremonies
  • Collect data on all programs and activities at the school throughout the year for state reporting.
  • Coordinate, plan, and research field trips for students
  • Provides secretarial support/assistance as needed.
  • Create, plan, coordinate and arrange logistics for the After-School programs as well as special events and activities at the school throughout the year.
  • Manage the enrollment of students into the After-School programs
  • Maintain records for the After-School programs
  • Support and develop collaborative relationships with the parents
  • Create and collaborate with the administrative team to prepare and maintain the school's events calendar for school year
  • Keep Administrative Leadership Team fully informed on issues and all other relevant matters pertaining to all programs and activities at the school
  • To create programs and activities for students and families that align with the mission and vision of Widener Partnership Charter School
  • Build and foster partnerships with community stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned by the Principal

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (education/training and experience required) :

Required:
  • Bachelor Degree or a combination of education and equivalent work experience
  • 3 to 5 years of previous experience in program coordination or project management, school district, camp or non-profit preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) skills
  • Volunteer management or organization experience
  • Ability to keep accurate records and prepare reports.
  • Demonstrated budget preparation experience
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to resolve issues, answer questions, and work independently with limited supervision
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills required; ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing with varied constituent groups.
  • Must be able to deal with multiple tasks in a fast paced work environment while paying attention to the details
  • Required to work well with others and to contribute to a positive work environment; must be willing to accept responsibility and work with limited supervision
  • Working with limited supervision, must be willing to take initiative, be a problem solver, and willing to offer suggestions and ideas to insure the smooth and efficient operation of the Office


Preferred:
  • Experience in a charter school environment
  • Experience in organizing, planning and executing fund raising events
  • Experience in planning and running after-school programs in K-8 environment
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Ability to lead teams of volunteers


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND/OR UNUSUAL HOURS:
  • Movement around the school is expected in order to fulfill job requirements
  • School calendar may require occasional work outside of the regular school day including nights and weekends
