Adjunct, Undergraduate Nursing Classroom Faculty HARRISBURG Campus

Widener University's School of Nursing (SON) Harrisburg Campus has adjunct vacancies for nursing faculty to teach in the following areas: Medical-surgical, Psych/Mental Health, Population Health, Pediatrics, Maternity, Leadership, Pathopharmacology, Pharmacokinetics, Population Health, Gerontology, Evidence-based Practice, Knowledge Synthesis and Introduction to Nursing. These positions support the growth of the accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) program. The Adjunct Nursing faculty instructor will teach in the undergraduate program at Widener University in the classroom with an emphasis on the dissemination of nursing knowledge using evidence based pedagogical strategies. Adjunct Nursing instructors are expected to attend all classroom sessions. Classes can be scheduled in the day or evening, weekday or weekend.

Responsibilities of Adjunct Nursing Faculty

Complete all clinical health requirements in Castlebranch

Develop materials for dissemination of content to students utilizing evidence-based pedagogical strategies.

Creation of all exams in conjunction with the course coordinator.

Meet with students to provide coaching and support.

Review exam results with students.

Review and provide feedback for all written assignments

Submit grades for assignments as directed by course coordinator

Write letters of recommendations as requested by students.

Required qualifications for an Adjunct nursing faculty Instructor include a Master of Science in Nursing or Master of Science with a major in nursing. Bachelor's degree in nursing is acceptable if currently enrolled in a Master's program. Completion of the Master's degree is required within 5 years of hire. Experience in a clinical area is required.

Also required for all candidates is licensure as a registered nurse in PA; licensure in NJ or DE is required if appropriate for the clinical site or the ability to obtain a license prior to the start of clinical. At least three years of recent clinical practice in the appropriate specialty is required.

Preference will be granted for candidates with Classroom teaching experience. All adjuncts must complete criminal background checks, child abuse checks and clinical requirements prior to starting through an external company.
