Adjunct, School of Law - Harrisburg Campus

Widener University has established a COVID-19 vaccination policy that requires all faculty and staff who will be on our campuses to be fully vaccinated as a condition of employment. Our goal is that all members of the Pride may safely experience Widener's hands on, inclusive, and personalized learning environment in person.

Adjunct faculty are responsible for: organizing the course, including selecting teaching materials and preparing a course syllabus; planning and presenting assigned material during the regularly scheduled course hours; engaging students in and out of the classroom to ensure student learning; establishing rigorous assessment standards and making the standards and learning outcomes known to students; grading examinations and papers consistent with the law school's Grade Normalization Policy; and submitting grades in a timely fashion. Adjunct faculty are expected to be available to students outside the classroom during the semester and after grades are released. They may do so in person or via telephone, email, or video conferencing.

Required qualifications include a J.D. or other comparable terminal degree. Preference will be given to candidates with relevant legal experience, previous teaching experience, and a willingness to be flexible in class scheduling.

Complete applications will include a cover letter, curriculum vitae, and contact information for two professional references. Incomplete applications will not be accepted.

*This is a pooled position from which adjuncts will be hired when openings occur.
