Assistant, Associate or Full Professor (HS Clin, Clin X, In Res, Adjunct) Associate Director, Immunogenetics and Transplantation

The Department of Pathology at the University of California San Diego (http://pathology.ucsd.edu) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and seeks an academic faculty member to join the Division of Laboratory and Genomic Medicine and serve as Associate Director of the Immunogenetics and Transplantation (HLA) Laboratory.
The Immunogenetics and Transplantation Laboratory (ITL) serves the kidney, heart, lung, liver, and hematopoietic stem cell transplant programs at UC San Diego Health and is the HLA laboratory for Lifesharing, San Diego and Imperial counties' regional Organ Procurement Organization. Located at the state-of-the-art UC San Diego Center for Advanced Laboratory Medicine in La Jolla, the ITL performs over 10,000 billable tests annually while contributing to the clinical, education, and research missions at UC San Diego.
Candidates must have a MD, MD/PhD, PhD, or equivalent. Candidates with an MD must be board certified / board eligible by the American Board of Pathology or a diplomate of the American Board of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ABHI), and/or certified as a Laboratory Director by the American Society of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI). Candidates must have or be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the Medical Board of California.
Candidates with significant prior clinical subspecialty work experience as well as individuals capable of contributing to other specialty sections of the Division and UC San Diego Health's Clinical Laboratories (e.g., transfusion medicine, molecular genetic pathology, hematopathology) are preferred.
The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience.

Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales. Appointments may require candidates to be self-funded.
