Engagement \u0026 Donor Relations Manager

Summary:
Advancement and External Affairs is fundamental to the success of Keuka College's fundraising and engagement efforts, providing overall strategy and tactical execution in the areas of constituent experience, donor recognition, gift stewardship, philanthropic communications and College-wide, advancement and presidential events. The Engagement and Donor Relations Manager will develop and implement a comprehensive communications strategy to share with donors the impact of their gifts. Through print and digital publications, special events and activities, social media, personal interactions, and correspondence, they will increase donor retention rates and elevate the level of giving by the constituents with whom they communicate. The Manager is responsible for generating accurate and compelling content for use in diverse communication channels, tailored to address the interests of segmented demographics. The manager participates as an active member of the Advancement and External Affairs team, supporting each department, including development, alumni relations, marketing, and communications.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Develops and implements an integrated donor relations program that strategically targets all levels of giving as defined by the advancement team.
• Develops strategic communications in multiple mediums in a timely fashion. This will include, but not be limited to, the Annual Report to Donors, year-end-reminders, endowment reports, giving societies and gift acknowledgments.
• Manage production of printed stewardship materials, donor-funded scholarship communication, donor recognition signage, donor impact and fund reports that align with the college's messaging and branding strategies.
• Annually conduct donor recognition events for endowed fund donors.
• Working closely with development staff to report to donors on the use of gifts, to arrange meetings between donors and beneficiaries if appropriate, and to help celebrate gifts.
• Tracks donor relations and stewardship activities in the Raiser's edge to enhance relationships and increase the likelihood of continued contributions.
• Attend appropriate stewardship and recognition events, and coordinate feedback from staff and volunteers on contacts made;
• Perform ongoing program evaluation to continuously identify innovative an efficient stewardship program that takes advantage of technology, workflow efficiencies, and other best practices.
• Maintain business acumen associated with fundraising principles, IRS guidelines, current use, endowed and restricted fund management, and other industry guidelines.
• Responsible for ensuring that assigned tasks are completed in compliance with various institutional and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times towards co-workers, internal and external customers, representing Keuka College, its programs, policies, and procedures in a positive and professional manner. Maintain effective working relationships to ensure institution-wide teamwork.
• Attend provided/necessary training and other meetings to support effectiveness within the position as required.
• Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the Keuka College mission, vision, and values and adhering to institutional policies.
• Maintain a high regard for student privacy in accordance with the FERPA privacy policies and procedures.
• Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.
• Perform other functions as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
2. Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and quality in work produced.
3. Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to manage stressful work situations.
4. Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of multiple teams, while thriving in a collaborative and innovative environment.
5. Organizational and project management skills to independently establish priorities, manage completing tasks with deadlines, and respond positively to change.
6. Demonstrated ability to act independently with discretion, anticipate and address concerns, and maintain high confidentiality.
7. Experience providing high-level customer service to diverse populations.
8. Advanced knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word, including the use of mail merge and forms.
9. Experience using Blackbaud Raiser's Edge or an equivalent database required.
10. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
11. Understand and behave with a high level of integrity and complete confidentiality at all times.
12. Ability to be sensitive to and respond to needs/concerns of students, faculty, college staff and the public.
13. Ability to work under pressure with a high tolerance for interruptions, and the ability to work with diverse groups of people.

Physical Requirements:
• Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
• Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
