Part-Time Instructor of Environmental Science

Position Title: Part-Time Instructor of Environmental Science

Job Summary: The School of Science invites applications for a Part-Time Instructor in the Department of Environmental Science & Policy, beginning August 26, 2019. The department is specifically searching for individuals to teach a Monday/ Thursday 8:00 AM section of Introduction to Environmental Issues (ENSC101) that consists of two 75-minute lectures per week during the semester.

Minimum Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include an M.A. or M.S. in Environmental Science or closely related field, strong interest in undergraduate education, a commitment to excellence, and innovation in teaching.

Preferred Qualifications: Desirable candidates will also have prior college level teaching experience and/or evidence one's ability to communicate effectively with college freshmen.

Essential Functions: Teaching Introduction to Environmental Issues lectures.

About the Department: The Department of Environmental Science & Policy consists of 3 full-time faculty, and several affiliated and part-time faculty. Strong relationships with regional environmental organizations are integral to the curriculum. Several members of these organizations teach for the program on a part-time basis. The Department is characterized by a strong sense of community in which students are the central focus and faculty are both accessible and approachable.
