Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach

Position Title: Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach

Department/ School: Athletics

Job Summary: The Department of Athletics at Marist College invites applications for a full-time, 12-month position as Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach. This position will report to the Head Women's Lacrosse Coach and assist with planning, organizing, administering and coordinating the program.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required. 1-3 years of experience playing in high school and college women's lacrosse and/or coaching women's lacrosse. Knowledge of NCAA rules and guidelines required along with excellent oral and written communication skills. Certification in CPR, first aid and AED will be required prior to the completion of probation period.

Preferred Qualifications: 3-5 years previous experience playing or coaching in Division I college women's lacrosse.

Essential Functions: The Assistant Women's Lacrosse Coach will participate in the preparation, coordination, practice & game plan preparation, and execution of practice plans during the academic year. The position is responsible for the identification, research of, and communication with prospective student athletes during the course of the calendar year. The assistant coach will also assist in the academic, personal, and career mentoring of student-athletes.

Recruit athletes to Marist College by:

• Researching the tournaments, showcases, high school games, tryouts and other relevant recruiting opportunities of prospective student athletes

• Preparing and coordinating the recruiting calendar and accommodations in accordance with the NCAA, MAAC (for all sports but Football), Pioneer League (Football only), and institution regulations

• Evaluating prospective student athletes by traveling to the tournaments, showcases, high school games, tryouts, and other relevant recruiting opportunities during permissible recruiting periods

• Conducting appropriate communication with coaches, prospective student athletes, and parents

• Coordinating and executing official and unofficial visits to campus for prospective student athletes and their families

Assist the Head Coach in developing the game strategy and designing effective and efficient training and practices for both the team and individual student athlete by:

• Formulating effective game plans for competition

• Conducting individual and small group training sessions

• Conducting comprehensive film review from practices and games

• Preparing daily team practice plans

• Working games and practices

Provide mentoring to student athletes inside and outside of practice on their academic, personal, civic, and career aspirations for the future.

Assist in other tasks as assigned by Head Coach and Athletic Director.
