The Department of Anesthesiology (https://medschool.ucsd.edu/som/anesthesia/Pages/default.aspx) at the University of California San Diego is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, and student body and s recruiting for a Ladder Rank (Tenure-Track) faculty position at the Associate or Full Professor level.

The Department of Anesthesiology is a nationally recognized clinical, research with educational programs in Neuroanesthesiology, Pain Management, Regional Anesthesia, Cardiovascular Anesthesia, Critical Care Medicine, and Pediatric Anesthesia. The Department of Anesthesiology practices in a collaborative Anesthesia Care Team model including Faculty, CRNAs and Residents. Our sites include the county Hospital at Hillcrest Medical Center, the VA San Diego Hospital, as well as an expanded site in La Jolla that includes Thornton hospital, Sulpizio Cardiovascular Center, Jacobs Medical Center and the newly built Komen Outpatient Pavilion.

Candidates must have a MD, MD/PhD, or PhD degree. Candidates with an MD degree must be eligible for a California medical license or equivalent certification/permit as determined by the California Medical Board. Candidates with an MD must also be board eligible/certified in anesthesiology.

Appointment will be at the Associate or Full Professor Rank based on candidate's experience and qualifications. Series will include 100% Ladder Rank or 50% Ladder Rank / 50% In-Residence with secured extramural funding.
