Senior Software Engineer

Position Title: Senior Software Engineer

Department: Information Technology

Job Summary: The Senior Software Engineer will lead and support multiple aspects of the software development process, design, test, document, deploy and maintain web based software solutions. The senior engineer will responsible for all facets of the software development process including design, test, documentation, deployment, and maintenance e of web based software solutions. It is a requirement the software and systems developed be scalable and developed using best practices.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in IT/Computer Science and 3 or more years of experience.

Essential Functions:
  • The senior software engineer will be responsible for all facets of the software development process with the web services department:
  • The application of systems analysis techniques and procedures, including consulting with users, to determine hardware, software or system functional specifications or
  • The design, development, documentation, analysis, creation, testing or modification of computer systems or programs, including prototypes, based on and related to user or system design specifications; or
  • The design, documentation, testing, creation or modification of computer programs related to machine operating systems;
  • Implement and maintain web based software solutions
  • Evaluate, integrate and extend commercial products using industry standard integration approaches, e.g. web services, message queues, plug-ins, portlets, gadgets
  • Offer suggestions for improvements/enhancements to currently developed solutions
  • Write functional documentation
  • Serve as a core member of an agile engineering team
  • Ability to work weekend or evening hours as may be required
  • Other duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications: Java, REST or web services like SOAP, MySQL, MariaDB, MVC Java Frameworks, SQL, XML, XSL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, JMS, Python and Linux, and Liferay (preferred)
