Assistant Professor of Management


The Department of Management and Marketing at Salisbury University's Franklin P. Perdue School of Business is accepting applications for two tenure-track positions of Assistant Professor of Management.

Area(s) of Specialization: One position is Human Resource Management; the other Organizational Behavior/Human Resource Management.

Primary Job Duties: Teach courses in Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior and other management courses at the undergraduate and graduate level while maintaining an active research agenda. We seek candidates who use effective teaching and classroom management strategies that enhance the success of diverse learners. The normal teaching load is 9 hours per semester.

Minimum Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior, Management or related disciplines. ABD candidates are eligible and would be hired at the rank of Instructor with the requirement that the doctoral degree be completed within one year of hire date.

Preferred Qualifications: Doctoral degree from an AACSB accredited university. Capable of meeting AACSB Scholarly Academic/ Academically Qualified (SA/AQ) as per the current definitions of the Perdue School of Business. Demonstrated ability to publish in peer reviewed management journals. Preference would be given to candidates with experience in teaching from among the following HR & OB courses ( Human Resource Management , Organizational Behavior, Staffing in Organizations, Employee Management Relations, Compensation, Training and Development). Professional experience in Human Resource Management or a related area is also preferred. We are particularly interested in applicants who demonstrate a commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment.

For the H.R. position, we seek a candidate who will continue development of our Human Resource Management curriculum. Expectations include applied activities, such as serving as faculty liaison to our Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) student chapter, and engagement with the professional H.R. community. Experienced candidates for this position may be considered at the Associate Professor level.
