JOB SUMMARY:

The Academic Solutions Engineer will serve as lead in academic support, partnering with faculty and technical teams to ensure a dynamic learning experience. The incumbent will consult with various teams throughout campus to strategically address the user experience within the learning environment with sustainable, holistic improvements. This position provides daily support and administration of Adelphi's multimedia, digital signage and cable TV services.

REPORTS TO: Manager of Customer Experience

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  1. Respond to calls and written work orders related to academic multimedia support.
  2. Perform pro-active maintenance of multimedia equipment including, replacement, routine room checks, projector bulb and filter changes, and Crestron system programming changes when necessary.
  3. Take lead on projects involving multimedia design and deployment including meeting with university constituents to establish their expectations and needs regarding the use of audio visual technology, obtaining and qualifying solution proposals and estimates, developing project plans and timelines and the execution of those plans.
  4. Advise university continents on what is technically possible in line with their business processes.
  5. Develop and propose system solutions which include roles and responsibilities, scope of the work and realistic timelines as well as budget information.
  6. Provide technical expertise and training to end users in need of multimedia training.
  7. Research and investigate vendors in the ordering of new equipment/services and recommend appropriate, cost-effective solutions.
  8. Create and maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation on all projects as well as recording of inventory information for all equipment.
  9. Travel off-site to create new multi-media spaces as well as to perform maintenance and troubleshoot problem work orders.
  10. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Ability to be organized and pay attention to detail.
  2. Ability to prioritize workload according to volume, urgency, etc.
  3. Ability to work independently and interact positively with a wide range of users, university departments and third party trades/vendors.
  4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Knowledge of Audio/Video systems and experience in A/V design and deployment.
  6. Knowledge of voice, data and video communications networks.
  7. Ability to manage Multimedia projects from all aspects.
  8. Ability to interact effectively with end users and provide training.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Bachelor's Degree required.
  2. Master's Degree preferred.
  3. Experience in Audio/Visual and Multimedia Project Management.
  4. Crestron Programmer Certification.
