Assistant Director of Data Integration and Applications Support

Reports To: Chief Information Officer (CIO)
Position Type: Full-time

Summary:
Under the direction of the Chief Information Officer, the Assistant Director of Data Integration and Applications Support will play a key role in driving the overall institutional effectiveness and business intelligence strategy for Keuka College. The primary responsibility of the role will include managing the institutional research, data repository, dashboards and reporting needs as well as the team supporting the College. This position will oversee and participate in the progress of all projects relating to data, including document management, and the College IT Governance strategy. This position will be responsible for strategic planning and management of delivery and support of reporting and analytics support at Keuka College.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Manage information technology analytical modeling efforts, monitor progress, and drive success.
• Oversee the development and maintenance of the Data Repository, including the ERP, and LMS systems data integrity.
• Responsible for developing and maintaining the information technology data and applications support strategy.
• Collaborate with department liaisons to develop a data dictionary that ties complex system terminology to business terminology and provides a clear path between software input and reporting output for ease of use.
• Develop and train users on data security policies and best practices. This includes managing data compliance with FERPA, PII, PCI, and HIPAA to support defined higher education standards.
• Maintain and further develop relationships with users across the College community to identify needs and collaborate on solutions to improve and enhance data analytics and student learning with our Learning Management System.
• Develop, support and maintain existing ETL processes in SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and custom scripts and programs in VB.NET.
• Responsible for training and assisting various users, managers, and technical staff regarding access, use, and storage of data. Recommend methods to maximize database design effectiveness.
• Recommend strategies and updates to the data repository system in response to changes in college or government reporting requirements and other regulations.
• Responsible for ensuring that assigned tasks are completed in compliance with various institutional and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain a professional and courteous attitude at all times towards co-workers, internal and external customers, representing Keuka College, its programs, policies, and procedures in a positive and professional manner. Maintain effective working relationships to ensure institution-wide teamwork.
• Attend provided/necessary training and other meetings to support effectiveness within the position as required.
• Consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity by supporting the Keuka College mission, vision, and values and adhering to institutional policies.
• Maintain a high regard for student privacy in accordance with the FERPA privacy policies and procedures.
• Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.
• Perform other functions as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. Bachelor Degree in Computer Science or related field; or 5+ years of proven leadership and technical experience in a related field of work.
2. Fully proficient in reporting, analytic tool, and data architecture.
3. Experience with Microsoft SQL databases, Ellucian Colleague ERP, business intelligence tools and ETL tools preferred.
4. Proven success in a formal or informal leadership role both managing and driving initiatives across the institution.
5. Ability to effectively represent the CIO in communicating with college leadership on information technology data strategy issues.
6. Utilize strong computer and analytical skills that will identify problems and propose optimal solutions.
7. Understand and behave with a high level of integrity and complete confidentiality at all times.
8. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail.
9. Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.

11. Ability to be sensitive to and respond to needs/concerns of students, faculty, college staff and the public.

Physical Requirements:
• Some evening and weekend hours may be required.
• Occasional lifting up to 25 lbs.
