JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for oversight of school and community partnerships serving as clinical placement sites for teacher and professional candidates for the College of Education and Health Sciences (CEHS). Supervise office of Professional Experience and Community Engagement (PECE) staff and clinical supervisors. Provide leadership to establish and sustain collaborative partnerships with P-12 schools and clinical settings.

REPORTS TO: Interim Dean

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

  1. Supervise PECE staff members, including assistant directors, coordinators, staff members, and graduate assistants.
  2. Provide coordination and oversight of clinical placement faculty.
  3. Develop and maintain all school and community partnerships for CEHS.
  4. Monitor affiliation agreements in collaboration with the Office of Risk Management.
  5. Ensure compliance with current New York State regulations regarding student teaching and clinical requirements.
  6. Oversee data collection related to clinical supervision in collaboration with the Office of Assessment and Accreditation to maintain national accreditation.
  7. Serve as edTPA coordinator for CEHS programs.
  8. Oversee all administrative policies and procedures involving student teaching, internships, externships and practica, including academic screening, applications, and tuition vouchers.
  9. Serve as a member in key committees supporting the CEHS mission and goals.
  10. Promote and support student teaching placements and externship programs.
  11. Collaborate with faculty members to develop and vet clinical sites to support their academic programs.
  12. Initiate regular review of forms and handbooks used by our clinical supervisors, teacher and on-site mentors, and teacher and professional candidates.
  13. Manage PECE budget and align budget allocations with CEHS priorities.
  14. Coordinate with staff of university offices, especially Admissions and Career Services.
  15. Perform other job-related duties as assigned, including attending professional conferences.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Experience negotiating partnership agreements with school district leaders.
  2. Ability to collaborate with faculty in a variety of disciplines.
  3. Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
  4. Ability to supervise full and part-time employees.
  5. Proficiency with Google applications and Microsoft Suite.
  6. Preferred facility with Moodle and Survey Monkey.
  7. Preferred experience with teacher residency programs.
  8. Preferred familiarity with CAEP and ASHA accreditation requirements.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Travel to clinical sites and off-site meetings in NYC and Long Island.
  2. Some travel to professional and academic conferences.

EDUCATIONAL/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Master's in Education, Ed.D or Ph.D. preferred.
  2. Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in a leadership position.

  1. Assistant Director of Clinical Experience, Assistant Director for Clinical Practice and TSSLD Certification, Fieldwork Coordinator, Externship Coordinator, Administrative Assistant, and Graduate Assistants/Student Workers.
