GIS Programmer I


Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of GIS Programmer I with the Eastern Shore Regional GIS Cooperative (ESRGC) at Salisbury University.

Primary Job Duties: Provide programming support for GIS based applications. The programming will include developing GIS based applications using .NET Framework technology, ESRI's Visual Basic, Javascript, & HTML. Additionally, the programmer will work with SQLServer and dashboard applications; develop Internet map applications; develop GIS analytical applications; and program mobile platform application.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Geography, Computer Science or Information Science or related field and 1-3 years of related experience.

Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem-solving, follow through, time management, and oral and written communication skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, work independently and in a team oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Additionally, competency in .NET, Visual Basic, Javascript, HTML programming is required.

This is a full-time, Contingent II position with limited benefits. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salisbury University will not be sponsoring applications for work visas for this position.
