Duties and Responsibilities
The Loyola University Chicago Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health is seeking a dynamic, motivated and outcomes-oriented director to lead our Doctor of Physical Therapy ( DPT ) program. We are seeking applicants for a full-time, tenure track professor at the associate or full professor level to start in July 2019. We are seeking CAPTE accreditation. This position requires direct or indirect supervision of faculty and staff members across the DPT program. The Director reports to the Chair of the Applied Health Sciences Department in the Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health.
The expectations and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
o Teach in one or more content areas
o Manage CAPTE accreditation process and annual reporting
o Ongoing development, oversight and enhancement of the DPT program
o Advising of DPT students
o Develop Faculty
o Participate in and guide alumni relations activities
o Participate in fund-raising
o Participate in departmental/school strategic planning
o Supervise program assessment
o Oversee DPT admissions process and recruitment events
o Manage budget
o Recruit, hire, and assess Faculty and staff
o Oversee faculty promotion dossier development
o Oversee and monitor student activities
Qualifications
Required:
o PT degree with Illinois licensure or eligibility for IL licensure
o APTA membership
o PhD with active research agenda for at least five years with history of successful grantsmanship
o Promoted, or eligible for promotion, through the academic ranks to associate or full professor
o Minimum of three years of clinical experience as a PT
o Minimum of three years of college teaching experience
o A commitment to the mission and vision of Loyola University Chicago
o Demonstrated commitment to establishing relationships, communication and teaching that fosters diversity, justice, inclusion and equality but not limited to gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation and religion
Preferred
o Academic administrative experience
o Familiarity with CAPTE accreditation requirements
o Experience with vulnerable populations
