Director of Architectural and Engineering Services


Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Director of Architectural and Engineering Services.

Primary Job Duties: Direct and manage the design and construction efforts of the University. Oversee the day to day operations of the Architectural and Engineering Services department, including managing staff workloads and annual budget. Coordinate with other University departments and outside consultants on projects and bid documents. Oversee State and University System funded projects as well as large and small University funded projects. Coordinate the planning and expansion of the campus and submit and present projects, budgets and schedules. Coordinate with local officials on community projects, code research and potential real estate acquisitions.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, Urban Planning or a related field and 7-10 years of related experience.

Preferred Qualifications: A license to practice architecture or engineering. Experience managing a team of architects, engineers and/or planners. General knowledge of CAD and GIS.

Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral and written communication skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) is required.

This is a full-time, exempt State position with a full benefits package. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.
