GIS Analyst (Full time-Contingent)


Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of GIS Analyst with the Eastern Shore Regional GIS Cooperative (ESRGC) at Salisbury University.

Primary Job Duties: Complete technical and analytical tasks instrumental to completing the work received by the ESRGC. Develop creative and intricate responses to client requests with regard to mapping and spatial analysis. Specifically, the position will manipulate spatial data with regard to projection, format, and logical organization; perform spatial and statistical analysis on spatial datasets; create cartographic products; create spatial datasets using heads-up and standard digitizing.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Geography/Geographic Information Science or a related field and 3-5 years of related experience.

Must be detail oriented and have excellent interpersonal, customer service, organization and planning, prioritization, problem solving, follow through, time management, and oral and written communication skills. Also, must be flexible and possess the ability to successfully handle multiple tasks/projects simultaneously and work well under pressure, work independently. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and ESRI ArcMap suite 10.5+ is required. Must be able to work individually and as part of a team, communicate with team members, and support the ESRGC's mission to provide GIS expertise to the Eastern Shore, Maryland, and the region.

Preferred Qualifications: Experience with ESRI Story Maps. Knowledge of Microsoft Power BI, Tableau, PostGIS, SQL Server. Cartographic experience. Experience with geodatabase design and QA/QC procedures.

This is a full-time, Contingent II position with benefits. Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Salisbury University will not be sponsoring applications for work visas for this position.
