Position Title: Adjunct Instructor, Global Studies

Department: School of Liberal Arts

Job Summary: The Instructor in Global Studies must be conversant with the concept and methods of interdisciplinary teaching. S/he will teach primarily a foundation course designed to introduce students to the concept of global literacy, providing them with a broad analytical framework in which to process a wide range of global issues. The course aims to serve students from most majors at Marist, and is supported by a program requirement of study abroad and exposure to a foreign language.

Minimum Qualifications: MA in one of many fields relevant to Global Studies, and evidence of general fluency and interest in global issues.

Essential Functions: Teach at least one, preferably two sections of the Intro to Global Issues in the Fall 2019. Course schedule for Fall:

Section 1: Monday & Wednesday, 3:30pm - 4:45pm

Section 2: Mondays, 6:30 - 9:00pm

Housed in the School of Liberal Arts, the Global Studies program supports an interdisciplinary minor intended to prepare students to live, work in, and make sense of an increasingly interdependent and multicultural world.
