Position/Job Summary

The Ithaca College Department of Sociology is accepting applications for a one-year (with possibility of renewal), full-time position to begin August 16, 2019. We seek a sociologist who can teach any combination of (critical) criminology courses, such as "deviance," law & society, crime & society; and/or race & ethnicity courses. The ideal candidate will also be interested in teaching "Introduction to Sociology."

The department's goal is to encourage students to integrate a wide range of social issues with theory, method, and practice. Candidates will teach 3-4 and participate in department meetings; no advising or service is required.

Position/Job Qualifications

ABD or Ph.D. in Sociology is required. Teaching experience and evidence of teaching excellence is also required, via course evaluations and teaching portfolio.
