Associate Director/Associate or Full Professor

The Center for the Study of Economic Liberty in the School of Civic and Economic Thought and Leadership, in conjunction with the W. P. Carey School of Business at ARIZONA STATE UNIVERSITY (Tempe) is now inviting applications for the position of Associate Director of the Center for Fall 2019.  The successful applicant must be tenurable as an associate/full professor in one of the eight units of the W. P. Carey School of Business: Accountancy, Agribusiness, Economics, Finance, Information Systems, Management and Entrepreneurship, Marketing, or Supply Chain Management. U.S. News and World Report has ranked Arizona State University as the most innovative university in the country for the past three years, ahead of Stanford and the Massachusetts Institute for Technology.

Essential Functions: The successful candidate will be expected to assist the Director of the Center for the Study of Economic Liberty in the design, implementation and evaluation of the Center’s research initiatives, as well as developing a high-quality research program leading to publication in leading journals in the relevant fields. In so doing, the Associate Director will play a prominent role in advancing the Center’s broader objective of evaluating the contribution of economic liberty to human betterment. The Associate Director will also teach courses in their unit at the undergraduate and graduate level; serve as a research mentor to graduate students; and interact with colleagues to support and enhance the intellectual atmosphere of the Center for the Study of Economic Liberty, the W. P. Carey School of Business, and the School of Civic and Economic Thought and Leadership.

Minimum Qualifications:

Associate/ Full Professor – 1) A PhD in business administration, entrepreneurship, economics, or a closely related field; 2) A record of research excellence as evidenced by papers published in premier academic journals including an active research agenda and professional experience within the business profession; 3) A demonstrated record of teaching excellence within business related fields at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Desired Qualifications: 

Associate/Full Professor – 1) Experience in academic and/or research administration; 2) Ability to support cultivation of relationships with current and potential donors; 3) Experience with collaborations through speaking/event opportunities; 4)Significant service and contribution to business related profession as evidenced by current or past editorial board memberships of premier academic journals, conferences, and workshops; 5) Experience with executive education; 6) Leadership with industry partnerships and a record of externally funded research
