Position/Job Summary

The Ithaca College Department of Sociology (located in Ithaca, NY) is accepting applications for a tenure-eligible, full-time position to begin August 16, 2019. We seek a sociologist who researches and teaches in consumption studies and class inequalities. The position also requires a rotation in one or more of our required courses: Theory, Qualitative or Quantitative Methods, Sociological Inquiries, and/or Introduction to Sociology. The department's goal is to encourage students to integrate a wide range of social issues with theory, method, and practice. Candidates will teach 3-3, in addition to doing service and maintaining a professional/scholarly program.

Position/Job Qualifications

Ph.D. in Sociology by time of appointment is required. Interest in teaching our required, one-semester quantitative methods course is preferred. Teaching experience and evidence of teaching excellence is also preferred.
