The Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work at Auburn University at Montgomery invites applications for a non-tenure track full-time lecturer position starting August 2019. This is a one-year (nine-month), renewable appointment. Responsibilities will include teaching core social work and area of specialization courses that are appropriate to the needs of the department, and maintaining office hours. In addition, the department chair may designate other duties. The teaching load is four courses per semester. Summer teaching for additional compensation is possible.

Successful candidates must have earned at least a Master's degree in Social Work from a CSWE-approved program. Additionally, at least two years of post-degree practice is required. Preference will be given to those applicants with a Ph.D. in Social Work or a DSW. Area of specialization is open, although the department would welcome a specialty in social justice.

The Department of Sociology, Anthropology, and Social Work includes seven tenure-track faculty. We currently offer a pre-Social Work cooperative program with Alabama State University, Auburn University, and the University of Montevallo and are in the approval and accreditation process for a Bachelors in Social Work. We offer a minor in Global Child Advocacy Studies and a Substance Abuse Certificate Program.
