The Department of Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences (http://repromed.ucsd.edu/) at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD) is committed to academic excellence and diversity within the faculty, staff, student body, and is recruiting a Project Scientist for our Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM), Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (REI), Gynecologic Oncology (GynOnc), Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (FPMRS), and general Obstetrics and Gynecology (OBGYN) divisions.

We seek an enthusiastic, highly motivated individual with rigorous training in development, genetics, molecular biology, genomics and bioinformatics, who is interested in an academic career focused on advancing research and education in the field of developmental biology. The ideal Project Scientist will be able to direct their own independent research project with oversight and input from the principal investigator. The incumbent will also assist with lab management tasks and help oversee the projects of others in the laboratory, including training and providing scientific direction for graduate students, undergraduate students and postdocs in the laboratory. The ideal candidate will also assist with manuscript writing and grant preparation and will also have the opportunity to present their work at scientific meetings.

Candidates must have a PhD in Genetics, Molecular Biology, Genomics, Bioinformatics or other related area.

The appropriate series and appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Project Scientist level will be based on the candidate's qualifications and experience. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and based on the University of California pay scales.
