The Department of Hispanic Studies at Davidson College seeks to hire two Visiting Assistant Professors for two-year positions beginning July 1, 2019, with teaching experience & research interests in one of the following fields:  US Latinx Studies; Contemporary Peninsular Studies; Afro-Latinx Studies, Hispanic Visual Cultural Studies; Performance, Studies; Hispanic Jewish Studies; and Southern Cone literature, film, and visual culture.  The successful candidates will teach five courses per year throughout our Spanish language sequence, as well as an upper-level course in the candidate’s area of expertise, conducted in Spanish.   Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English required.  Preference will be given to candidates with a PhD in hand in Hispanic Studies by the time of appointment although those who hold ABD status are also welcome to apply.
