Lecturer (all ranks) in Biomedical Engineering
 
The School of Biological and Health Systems Engineering (SBHSE) in the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering (FSE) at Arizona State University (ASU) seeks applicants for a lecturer (all ranks) position beginning in the fall 2019 semester.  Appointments will be made at the rank of Principal Lecturer, Senior Lecturer or Lecturer commensurate with the candidate’s experience and accomplishments.  Job responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in biomedical engineering.  Other responsibilities include holding office hours, supervising undergraduate design and research projects, and participating in course and program assessment.  This position is non-tenure track. It is anticipated that the contract will be renewed annually subject to satisfactory performance and the needs of the unit.
 
Required qualifications:
 
  • Earned doctorate degree in Biomedical Engineering, or a field related to the stated teaching focus of this position, by the time of appointment;
  • Teaching experience in an undergraduate engineering program; and
  • Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching that incorporates active learning, expertise in Biomedical Engineering curriculum innovation.
 
Desired qualifications:
 
  • History of university level instruction related to biomedical product design and basic applied mathematics with an emphasis on transport phenomenon, microcomputing and product design; and
  • Familiarity with the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) processes
