Administrative Assistant II - Social Work


Salisbury University, a member of the University System of Maryland, is a regionally accredited four-year comprehensive institution offering 62 distinct graduate and undergraduate programs. Salisbury University is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Administrative Assistant II in the Department of Social Work.

Primary Job Duties: This position provides complex administrative support to the School of Social Work. Specifically, maintains all aspects of multiple school budgets. Tracks expenses, reconciles accounts, and provides standard budget projections. Provides regular budget updates to School and University officials. Prepares and processes all contracts and relevant documents for various types of employment. Process and track reimbursements, work orders and travel approvals. Acts as lead for administrative support for the main office and satellite sites. First point of contact for general administrative needs such as room reservations, recording meeting minutes, inventory monitoring, equipment repair (contact vendor as needed), catering orders, front office student coverage scheduling, timesheet submission, motor pool request processing, distribute mail as necessary, Social Work email monitoring and response. Responsible for providing and requesting information for departmental monthly, quarterly and annual program reports including but not limited to those required by institutional research, university admissions office, university inventory, Council on Social Work Education, and the Association of Baccalaureate Program Directors. Edits and formats reports incorporating edits from multiple reviewers. Ensures the program reports are grammatically accurate and have a professional presentation.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. 3 years experience providing administrative support. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

General knowledge of and skill in the practical application of generally accepted office practices and procedures. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. Ability to proofread and edit written documents. Skill in various computer software packages, such as word processing, spreadsheets, database, and presentation programs, Internet, email and calendaring software. Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions. Ability to interact effectively with internal and external parties in a courteous and efficient manner. Ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and execute multiple and continuing assignments with general instructions.

Preferred Qualifications: Working knowledge of PeopleSoft is preferred.

This is a full-time non-exempt state position with a full benefits package. Starting salary is $35,728.00 annually which is approximately $17.19 per hour.
